Update #10 - Gifts for Botanists incoming!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Sep 12, 2021 at 06:50:15 PM

Hello again, gardeners!

This is just a quick follow-up to yesterday's update - we will be announcing two free gifts for all backers at the Botanist level before the end of the campaign!! One will be announced tomorrow, and one on Monday. I wonder if you can guess what they are??

For now, we will leave you with this teaser image for tomorrow's announcement...

Both of these gifts are equivalent to mega stretch goals, but they will be unlocked no matter our total pledges. Thanks so much to everyone for your support - we are nearing 750 backers and we can't wait to make the games for you!

Until tomorrow...!

over 2 years ago – Fri, Sep 10, 2021 at 03:30:24 AM

Hello once again to all our amazing backers! We have crossed the 700 backer mark (wow!) and our final stretch goal has fallen!! This is a very quick update as we have some big news to share in our next one tomorrow :)

Yay! Now the dice for A Walk in the Park will be bigger and nicer!

...But wait! There's more!

What was that I said? All stretch goals are now unlocked? But we have 4 days left in the campaign - can't we do more?

YES! We have been so flattered and excited by everyone's support and so we have decided that with such a successful campaign, we would love to give our supporters some wonderful thank you gifts!

We will be adding teaser images of these onto the page ASAP, and during the last couple of days of the campaign we will reveal them... :) More info tomorrow!

Oh! And David has posted a play-through video of A Walk in the Park! Check it out on Youtube, on our campaign page, or by clicking below...

...will he get close to winning this time???

Thanks so much everyone, speak again soon :)

Update #8 - Silkscreen them all!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Sep 08, 2021 at 02:25:39 AM

Hey everyone,

Welcome to our final week of the campaign! Thanks again for everyone's support! In fact, another Stretch Goal just got unlocked thanks to your support :).

Silkscreen on Meeples!

Just so you know, we now get some nice silkscreen on our meeples. Everything that is needed to turn those charming pieces of wood into beautiful pieces of wood with ink on them! Your Garden will now look even more fancy. And it will be easier to tell from a glance which meeples are yours. (Note that we are reviewing the colours of the visitor meeples and the final game will probably have different colours to those shown here.)

Tabletopia!

We've had the pleasure to become official on Tabletopia. That's right! No more special space, we've gone full public! You can even find a pdf of the rules there to learn how to play (Or check our cool videos we made or reviewers!)

Here's the link if you want to open a game for yourself:

https://tabletopia.com/games/the-gardens

Don't forget to check Tabletopia on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @tabletopiagames

Oh! And speaking of Tabletopia, David used it to record a solo play-through video of The Gardens! You can watch it here:

...(will he come close to winning???)

What's Next?

Everyone likes bigger dice so we have now unlocked the funds required to upsize our D6 in A Walk in the Park! (16mm sides/22mm diagonal measurement up from 15mm sides/20mm diagonal).

We have more stretch goals planned and we about to reveal some really exciting ones to finish off the campaign. How many we get to will be determined (obviously) by the rate of funding in the last week. Here's hoping we go from strength to strength!

Okay so that's pretty much it for today, we'll keep you updated in our next message to you. Again, a big thank you for your support.

Have a great day!

Update #7 - Get dressed for success!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Sep 03, 2021 at 06:23:23 PM

G'day backers! Thanks so much for your tremendous response and for backing The Gardens! Another stretch goal fell today and the next one in our sights excites me a lot :)

Thicker punch board!

Last week we got to increase the thickness of our player boards, and today we raised enough funds to increase the thickness of the remainder of the cardboard in the game (scoring tiles etc etc) by half a millimetre (to 1.5mm). It may not sound like much, but that extra point five will really add sturdiness and longevity to your game!

Visitor meeples get dressed up!

Our next funding goal (at $47,000AUD) will allow us to put silkscreen-printed designs on the visitor meeples in the game. This will give each player a sense of individuality - not just by selecting the colour of visitors they choose, but what they are wearing as well :) In the image above you can see a hint of how these meeples may look - but these designs are still being worked on. If anyone has some suggestions for what the visitors to the gardens should be wearing - please let us know :)

Play-through videos still on the way!

I promised a play-through video of A Walk in the Park and The Gardens solo this week, but life has certainly got in the way, I'm afraid, so expect these early next week.

Stay safe, and please remember to always walk on the grass.

Update #6 - Quality upgrade!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Sep 01, 2021 at 12:06:04 AM

Hello once again to our amazing backers! The Gardens now has almost 600 supporters and we have passed another stretch goal! With the first week of our three week campaign in the books we are - as ever - excited by the game's success so far.

Nicer dice!

Thanks to everyone's support, the d6 in A Walk in the Park will now have engraved designs on its face, instead of printed-on ones! The die shows the players what to draw on their sheets each turn (either one of a variety of pathways or an ibis), so we are happy this can now be really increased in quality. Check out the campaign page for mockups of how it will look. We have more plans to make the dice even better in the future, but we'll see how far we can streeetch!

Thicker punchboard!

Our next goal comes in at the $44,000AUD mark - increasing the thickness of the punch board in The Gardens from 1mm thick to 1.5mm! This will mean all the cardboard components in the game will be of a stronger/better quality - can't wait!

Many thanks to all our fans who have been tweeting about The Gardens this past few days - your support is very flattering and invaluable!

More news and announcements coming soon - we hope everyone has been enjoying a great start to their week :)
